Non-Medicare Eligible Early Retiree

Providing Fully or Partial Insured for pre-65 retirees is one of the most vexing problems in today's health insurance marketplace. They are typically the poplulation most prone to acute, large claim illnesses. In most cases, providing health care benefits for pre-65 retirees as part of the existing active employee plan program is more cost effective than "carving out" this risk.

Employers should note that increases in pre-65 costs may have an exponential impact on FAS 106 liabilities.

NSC, however, will explore the possibility of providing pre-65 coverage on a fully insured or partially self-funded basis.

When considering carving out early retirees, please consider quoting stop-loss on your active population with Health Quote, Inc. This will help us when quoting your retiree population.

Also, ask about our short term medical (fully insured) Cobra alternative.
